A number of the pages within our website are regularly updated and we will continue to make every effort to present you with up to date and accurate information. It is our hope that you will find that this site provides you with useful information and contact details regarding the Avon Area officials, the various Clubs and their Instructors, as well as forthcoming events.
The emphasis of our website is on keeping those interested in starting judo with in the Area and existing members informed of events, club details and who and how to contact Area Officials and Club Representatives. We hope that this will be of interest and use to you.
If you are not familiar with Judo or this Area of the British Judo Council (BJC) we would be pleased to hear from you. Please let us know what your needs and questions are and we will endeavour to assist you.
In brief, you should know the following about us: the Avon Area BJC is affiliated to the British Judo Council and has been in existence for a number of years. As the name suggests, it encompasses all the BJC clubs that fall within the old Avon area. The Clubs and their instructors have been responsible for providing training in judo at all levels and we pride ourselves on being a friendly and supportive Area.
Avon Area BJC, all of its Officials, Clubs , instructors, coaches and volunteers are fully committed to safeguarding the well-being of all its members, particularly children. Area Officials, instructors, coaches and volunteers will, endeavour to, at all times, show respect and understanding for the rights, safety and welfare of others and will conduct themselves in a way which reflects the principles of the British Judo Council.
There are a number of clubs running in the Avon Area, and if you look to the left you will see links to information regarding each of these clubs. So that the activities of the Area can be coordinate a number of Judoka from various clubs have offered to take on additional role and responsibilities on behalf of the Area.
